Soooo, we've had a couple rough weeks of Mia getting out of her crib! She started climbing out as soon as we returned from UT, as if to punish us for not taking her :) We hear a thump, pitter patter steps, door knob turning and she's out, usually with her blankie and lambie looking for us! When we see her she acts like it's no big deal, "Hey Dad! Whatcha doin?" We put her back with limited attention over and over and over again...sometimes 10 times in an hour. I started sleeping outside her door to minimize effort. A few times, I'll be honest, I broke down and Mikey came in late to find Mia sleeping in my bed- I was tired!!
So enough! We finally did some research, thanks friends and family, and after a trip to target and an L-wrench, she now has her "big girl bed"!
Night one, after walking her back about 10 times I found her asleep outside my door, sweet baby! Next step, locking her in her room.
Way to make some changes for the little one! She looks like she loves her new bed:-) and keep on--being consistent as parents is SO hard and exhausting, but it will pay off. The doorknob apparatus will work...I hope...!
ReplyDeleteOh man! Hopefully she starts to think its really cool to stay in her big girl bed so you don't have to go through two years of her coming in your room like Peyton did to us! Glad she likes the monkey slippers;)
